19th Century Folk art Priests Cosh

A rare object in the form of a 19th Century folk art priests’ cosh. With hand carved detail in the form of a man in tunic. With worn hand painted detail and a well-crafted hand carved hand. With one glass eye this is not only very unusual but also very tactile.

This item shows natural wear and aging as we have tried to show in the photos provided, especially across the painted surface which has faded due to age and handling. There are a few natural wooden splits but very firmly in place as these have naturally occurred. One glass eye is missing also. The item is solid and very well made, nevertheless.

This item is an antique and has stood the test of time, untouched in form so please expect aged wear and tear and obvious imperfections as we have tried to show in the photos.
