An unusual set of eight German or possibly Dutch late 19th century Roemer hock wine glasses in an attractive olive green glass. These are blown with a hollow flared stem with applied ripple base and applied prunts to the shaped bowl. Max capacity 115 ml. The set is in good condition, but one glass has an amount of the ripple base missing. All still very usable.


This theme of wine glass, commonly retailed by Liberty London and Morris & Co Ltd at the end of 19th Century/early 20th Century was created to satisfy the trend for Dutch revival glass from the 16th/17th Century. Now antiques themselves, these beautiful ‘hock’ white wine glasses have a distinctive and stylish look which works so well in 21st Century.
