Item Details

A lovely folk wall cabinet, originating from Scandinavia, with hand carved relief patterning and dated 1783. Made from sculpted oak with a good patina, with a single door and shelf. With intricate patterning at either side of the door with a scroll design, a Norman style door with a marquetry star at the center. Above and below are nicely carved rose motifs and date in italic roman font. Waxed wood with nice colouring, and with a more recent restored lock. This is a great cupboard for anywhere in the house, with loads of beautiful artisan workmanship and charming country simplicity.
