A powerful and moody abstract portrait by Russian/Danish artist Evgenij Kleno (1921- 2005 ). This stylish oil on canvas, showing a female sitter, is painted in muted colours, deep shadows, and with thick expressive brush work. Kleno studied at in Copenhagen before departing to paint in Paris, followed by Spain and Italy, later returning to France to continue his career. He is known for his landscapes, nudes and still life painting. This comes framed in silvered wood and would look amazing on any wall space.
