A striking decorative wall hanging plate made by Villeroy and Boch, Germany, 1970. Featuring a cockerel, or rooster, featured frequently by mid century artists, including Picasso, and painted by hand in expressive broad brushstrokes, with amazing colours and composition. The plate is softly curved to the middle, and with a very light vintage crazing to the glaze.  This is a stunning piece for the home, both modernist with a rustic, primitive aesthetic, and comes ready to hang.
