A gorgeous mid century Danish coastal scene by Svend Nielsen (1908 - 1983 ). Showing sky, sea, fishing boats and a fascinating composition of smokehouses and buildings, all painted with a wonderful post war palette of chalky oils on canvas. Painted on the Danish island of Bornholm, the picture has a peaceful, calming and positive presence, and would be amazing in any room. Photographed with and without gold frame.
