Item Description
Offered for sale is this quality mahogany Russell of Falkirk barometer. Commissioned by Garrard, The Crown Jewellers and made by Comitti & Son.
These were made to commemorate the wedding of H.R H. The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981.
Only 200 were made.
The mahogany case, which also houses a mercury thermometer, is enriched with polished and twisted brass, and decorated with black and gold glass panels. The white-painted dial includes two subsidiary dials.
The inscription on the dial reads, WatchMaker to his R.H.The Prince Regent similar to that on the Victoria and Albert Museum instrument.
