These baskets were used for harvesting grapes in the Champagne region of France in the 1920s and 1930s They are made of woven wicker with twisted wire supports and sit on two wooden runners. We bought these from the renowned Champagne producer Henri Giraud hench the HG on each basket. They are a great size and could be used with a liner as a planter in the summer and are perfect as log baskets in the winter. 



CONDITION




  • Minor scratches, nicks and scuffs consistent with age and use




  • Slight surface wear and variations in colour due to weathering




  • There are professional repairs to the wicker on some of the baskets. All have been washed and treated for woodworm.
