Item Details

This substantial copper vat was used to make marmalade in the South France at the turn of the 20th century. It features a large cast iron handle and a pure copper body which is riveted together. This very attractive item would now make a really lovely planter being large enough for a tree and perfect for seasonal flower displays. It does not have a flat base so we have photographed it on a two inch thick piece of rope so it sits flat on a hard surface. On a soft surface it would be ideal to dig the base into the ground. A fantastic and rare statement piece which despite its age is in very good condition and ready for many more years of its repurposed use.

Minor scratches, nicks and scuffs consistent with age and use

Slight surface wear and variations in colour due to weathering
