Item Description
It originated in the Shanxi region of China in the 1890s and is made from elm. The altar table has polychromed paintwork, and hand-carved detailing all over. The carvings are a mixture of flowers and dragons which could symbolise the duality of good and evil. It holds a uniqueness through the horse hoofed legs and the hidden drawer in the base of the table.
It would have been used to hold items of particular beauty or wealth within the home. It now can be used as a stunning side table.
Dimensions: H - 90cm , W - 155cm, D - 61.5cm.
