Item Description
This stunning cabinet is a perfect example of a Chinese apothecary cabinet. It originated in the 19th century in Northern China, specifically the Shanxi region. It is made from elm and the quality of this cupboard can be seen through the original brass handles and the original apothecary labels. Certain labels translate to: 'Sugar' and 'Children's Medicine'
It would have been used to hold traditional apothecary products of the time. Nowadays it can be used for a beautiful piece of oriental décor or as a unique storage space for domestic items.
Dimensions: H - 152cm, W - 103cm, D - 53.5cm.
