Item Description

This late 19th century Chinese window screen would have originally been used as a room divider, offering privacy or as a method of protection from the wind. Now it can be used as wall décor; adding an authentic oriental feel to your home.

This piece originates from the Qing Dynasty and is made from a variety of hard and soft woods and contains many intricate carvings including bats. The inclusion of bats means that this window screen resonates with good fortune as bats symbolise good fortune in Chinese culture. For easy hanging, the previous owner has added a brass hanging hoop.

The dimensions of this screen are approximately: W - 29.5cm, L - 64.5cm, D - 4cm
