This piece originates from the Qing Dynasty and is made from a variety of hard and soft woods and contains many intricate carvings including bats. The inclusion of bats means that this window screen resonates with good fortune as bats symbolise good fortune in Chinese culture. For easy hanging, the previous owner has added a brass hanging hoop.
