Item Description
A rare, Wedgwood, yellow jasper dip sucrier. This is marked “WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1900. It is also impressed with a letter “V” and a potters tool mark. The sucrier is decorated, in white relief, with a continuous band of classical figures between trees and foliage and, to the lid, is a band of stylised leaves. This is one of the more unusual colours that Wedgwood produced in this period. It was sometimes used along with black dip to give a three colour jasper but was used less in this form. It was also used more for decorative wares rather than tea wares. There is a small chip on the rim but otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: Height 10cm. Width 12.5cm. Diameter 11cm.
