Item Description
A Wedgwood, dark blue, jasper dip violeteer. This is marked ”WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1920. It is also impressed with a number ”5” which relates to the diameter in inches, and two letters, an ‘A’ and a ‘Y’, which would be workman’s marks. It is decorated, in white relief, with a continuous band of classical figures between trees and foliage, and to the lid are small, stylised flowers and acanthus leaves. The reliefs are all good quality and the jasper dip is a good, rich shade of blue. Both the violeteer and cover are in excellent condition and it could be used.
