Item Description
A wonderful 20th century charcoal and pastel drawing of a show horse by Royal Academy artist Leslie Charlotte Benenson (1941-2018) of exceptional quality.
Hand written notes from the artist are at the bottom of the drawing with dates, horse’s name, and parentage.

Benenson was born in London where she studied art at the Regent Street Polytechnic from 1958 to 1963. She was awarded a National Diploma in Design in 1962.
After successfully exhibiting work at the Royal Academy from 1962, and at the Royal Society of painter-etchers and engravers from 1968, Benenson was elected to member status of the latter in 1978, as well as being one of the founder members of the Society of Equestrian artists.
She is exhibited widely, and her work can be found in many public and private collections (see a photo of the list)
