This is a large vintage decorative carved chest. A Chinese, camphorwood and brass linen trunk with Art Deco taste, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1940.

• Profusely carved to each fascia and of substantial proportion
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order
• Quality camphorwood shows fine grain interest throughout
• Presented with a quality wax polish finish over bright caramel hues

• Decorated with striking relief, displaying figural scenes and natural motif
• Carved, inset cup handles adorn the lid, held securely closed with a brass, engraved clasp
• Stout lid supported when open by an internal, brass hinged stay
• Naturally finished, clean interior offers light caramel hues and the desirable aroma typical of camphorwood

• Generously sized through dovetail joints to each chamfered corner
• Recessed handle grips formed from the upper edge of the side panel decor
• Raised prominently upon four shaped bracket feet with dog of fo masks to the knees
