A highly unusual folk art carved wood and gesso bust of a gentleman with the inset eyes being made of marble, mounted on a later wooden block. Obvious wear and tear, as pictured.
English and likely dating from the late 17th or early 18th century, presumably once part of a bigger piece, perhaps from a church.
Height of the bust: 21cms, Overall height (bust and display block) 37cms
Maximum width of the bust: 10.5cms
