Item Description
An Early 20th Century Charlie Chaplin Fairground Target Panel
Basic in design and form, this piece of English fairground folk art is quite charming and decorative in our humble opinion. A mid-20th century English carnival/fairground shooting target panel that is made from section pieces of wood and metal. All hand painted detail, the eyes would have originally had lights in them, which would have illuminated when the metal target in the mouth or bag was struck. Now it’s more a piece of wall art for a quirky and fun interior space.
Dimensions in inches: H 49” x W 18” x D 2”
Origin: English
Age: Early 20th Century
Condition: Aged
This antique object is completely solid in structure and form, firmly in place but shows natural aging across all surfaces including the wooden detail and painted surface as we have tried to show in the photos provided. The painted surface is faded, and the mechanism is not connected or working. The frame is firm and strong.
We strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment upon purchase.
