Early 20th Century English Fairground Ride Illuminated Lights

A highly decorative matched pair of illuminated plywood hand painted English fairground lights. It’s likely these lights would have been accompanied by several similar example on a fairground amusement ride or game of sorts. With original metal hanging hooks still in place as shown.

These items show natural wear and aging with scratched, scuffs worn wooden areas, chipped paint and natural patina, rust on the metal sections. We have only added the lighting in the form of small Christmas lights to illuminate them for photographic advertising display purposes. The lights are crudely attached with tape to hold them in place, not all the holes are filled with bulbs however at present but can be with some patients and work as all the lights bulbs are there, the bulbs are simply placed inside the original holes but could do with firmer securing as they are not securely fitted at present. The lights are adjustable and have 3 or 4 setting from flashing to fading in and out as Christmas lights do. The power source is to a UK 240v mains also. After correcting light positioning by the buyer they could easily be hung on the wall, made from thin ply and they do not weight more that 1kg each.
