Item Description
A lovely quality, early 19th century, dark grey marble mortar with a turned wooden pestle. This is a very useful size of mortar for general kitchen use. The marble is a very dark grey, with lighter grey speckling and, to the interior, you can see a fossilised plant stem. The pestle is nicely turned from walnut. There is very slight chipping to the rim of the mortar from use. The pestle is in very good condition.
