Item Description

Early 20th Century Aunt Sally English Fairground Game We share what we love, and we love this oversized early 20th Century example of a carved wood Fairground Aunt Sally knock down game. This game was traditionally played in central English pubs and fairgrounds. An Aunt Sally was originally the modelled head of an old woman with a clay pipe in her mouth; the object was for players to throw sticks at the head to break the pipe. Size of inches: H 6” x W 15.5” x D 6” Condition: Aged Origin: English Age: First Quarter of the 20th Century Completely solid in structure and form, Natural aging across all surfaces, the wood material is worn in certain areas with scratches and paint loss as shown. Rust across metal sections of this item and the wooden sticks are also worn with a deep natural patination. An aged antique item so please expect this in the condition as the photos aim to show. This item does not have a clay pipe.
